Two Sedalia residents have been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing items from a rural Pettis County residence a couple of months ago.
A probable-cause statement filed by a Sheriff’s Deputy says a resident in the 15000 block of Crystal Springs Road reported he had a lottery ticket, a leaf blower, a chain saw and a skill saw stolen on January 13.
An investigation revealed the winning 20x-lottery ticket reportedly was cashed by Ashley Moore.
A different deputy responded to another burglary reported at the same residence on March 8, where the deputy noted there were signs of forced entry into the residence. However, there was no mention of items taken during the most-recent incident.
Later, a Pettis County detective located the truck and matched the license-plate number pulled from surveillance.
According to online court documents, Lyle and Ashley Moore, each has been charged with one count a Class D Felony for Burglary in the Second Degree. Ashley Moore also has been charged with a misdemeanor for stealing of less than $150 with No Prior Stealing Offense.
Bond for Ashley was set at $7,500 and Lyle at $5,000 cash or surety.
A hearing for each defendant is set for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, in Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia.
