A Sedalia man charged with a sex-related felony involving two juveniles was sentenced to spend time in the Missouri Department of Corrections after a court proceeding earlier this week in Pettis County.
Online court documents say during a sentencing hearing on Monday, January 22, Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Phillip Sawyer said a plea agreement was made with 32-year-old Joshua L. Miller, who was charged with two counts of a Class C Felony Third-Degree Child Molestation with a Child Less Than 14 Years of Age. Miller was sentenced to spend five years in the DOC on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
Online court documents also say Miller plead guilty to the charges during a court date at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia on November 1, 2017.
Miller’s charges arose after a probable-cause statement said he was arrested on April 13, 2017, after an investigation revealed on several occasions he allegedly had inappropriate contact with two children, which reportedly started about three years ago.
