In less than three months, it will no longer be OK for anybody to smoke at some places in a Lafayette County city.
At its meeting on Monday, February 5, the Higginsville Board of Aldermen voted to enact an ordinance that will prohibit smoking in enclosed places of employment and public places.
City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the ordinance has been revamped several times.

Dobson said the ordinance is available for any business owner who wants to pick it up at city hall.
The ordinance will go into effect on May 1, 2018.
