AREA HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE STUDENTS TO PERFORM AND RAISE FUNDS FOR PETTIS COUNTY FOOD PANTRY

Area high school students are scheduled to perform scenes from several plays to benefit a food pantry later this week in Pettis County.

According to a news release, Smith-Cotton High School theatre students will serve up comedic scenes for the fourth annual Theatre for a Cause fundraiser in the Heckart Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 15.

Directed by senior Krysta Ott, the cast is scheduled to perform scenes from three different plays: “Almost Maine,” “Sure Thing” and “Check, Please.” The cast includes students– Dalton Shepard, Lauren Gray, Ethan Beard, Chandler Gray, Sharra Gilger, Meredith Tester, Derrick Gilger and Ott, along with S-C teacher Michael Kailus.

All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Community Café, which strives to improve the food security of the Sedalia and Pettis County communities by providing nutritious meals to combat hunger and malnutrition in the area.

Tickets are $5 each for all ages and can be purchased in the front office at Smith-Cotton High School or at the door.
