An area teenager is facing two felony charges for allegedly assaulting a victim at a high school earlier this week in Howard County.
According to a probable-cause statement, at approximately 11:50 a.m. on February 14, Fayette Police officers responded to Fayette High School in reference to a physical altercation that reportedly occurred.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the principal who stated he was talking with 17-year-old Donisa Duncan in his office about alleged threats she had made to other students via text messages. The principal said he stepped out of his office to speak with the juvenile office, and Duncan reportedly left the office and headed towards a classroom. Duncan allegedly entered the classroom, grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled her out to the hallway. The altercation was quickly broken up by other students and teachers.
Online court documents say Duncan has been charged with two Class E Felonies for Third-Degree Assault and First-Degree Harassment. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety, with a special condition of not being within 1,000 feet of schools.
Duncan’s initial hearing at Howard County Circuit Court in Fayette is pending.
