Twelve Missouri Valley College Nonprofit Management students recently attended the 2018 Alliance Management Institute in Kansas City.
A news release says, for the second straight year, MVC students presented a poverty simulation at the conference. The presentation was in collaboration with MVC alumni and professional partners from the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency. Participating students included April Hennen, Payton Funk, D’Wayne Williams, Cornelius Dixon, Malik Collins, Vince Speers, Ashlyn Theus, Raven Nevels, Sarah Breshears, Leah Simmons, Kervin Morris and Taras Payne.
Simmons, Payne, Speers, Williams and Dixon reportedly were awarded their Certified Nonprofit Professional status. Dixon also was recognized as the 10,000th CNP to be awarded nationally. MVC also had the first CNP ever to be awarded– Leroy Johnson, class of 1950.
The Alliance Management Institute is the only national conference designed to prepare 500-plus college students for a career in the social sector.
