An area police department is asking for the public’s help investigating an apparent shooting incident.

According to a post on its Facebook page, Carrollton Police officers responded to the reported incident in the 900 block of South Park Street at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Friday, February 16.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a victim, who reportedly had been shot twice in the abdomen. The victim reportedly was transported by ambulance to Carroll County Memorial Hospital and later flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police department is urging anyone who has any information about the incident to call the department at (660) 542-3128.
