Needing a new location to call home for the city’s police department, the Carrollton Town Council acted to purchase a property on U.S. Highway 65 from Townes Staton at its meeting on Tuesday, February 20, according to Administrative Assistant Terry Bell.

Bell said the cost is $290,000.
The council also gave its OK to a bid for the paving of several city streets for $336,000.

In other news, the council authorized the city to enter into an agreement with the Carroll County YMCA for its members to use the city pool at no charge; the city agreed to lease a space at the municipal airport to Tom Carpenter; Clint Mathis was appointed to the University of Missouri Extension board; and the Ward 2 Councilperson resigned for personal reasons.
