A Marshall man faces one felony charge after allegedly making threats of harm and trespassing earlier this month in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says about 4 p.m. on April 14, the Marshall Police Department received a report of 31-year-old James Allen Roberts allegedly trespassing on several properties in the 500 block of East Arrow Street. Also, another report stated Roberts allegedly was in possession of a firearm and made threats towards a victim.
Officers were dispatched and made contact with Roberts who reportedly fled to a wooded area between Eastwood Street and Lincoln Avenue. During the pursuit, officers commanded Roberts to get to the ground and remove his hands from his pockets multiple times. Roberts eventually was apprehended after he reportedly removed items from his jacket and surrendered to authorities. The items recovered included a glass pipe and a small baggie containing methamphetamine. Roberts reportedly was not in possession of a firearm.
Online court documents say Roberts has been charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
Robert’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court is pending.
