A 61-year-old Versailles man had to be pulled out of the water to safety after falling off a boat at a lake in Morgan County on Monday.
According to a Highway Patrol report, Charles Dowell tripped on a seat and fell over the starboard side of the vessel. He was pulled out of the water by the driver.
Dowell was transported by Mid-Mo E.M.S. to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City for treatment of serious injuries.
The incident– described as a near drowning– happened just before 4 p.m. at the 9 mile mark of the Gravois Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.
