Eleven area residents, including seven youths, suffered injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Johnson County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Tamatha Duncan, of Warrensburg, reportedly failed to stop for a stop sign and drove into the path of a westbound vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Jeffery Hoover, of Holden. The Hoover vehicle reportedly struck the right, rear portion of the Duncan vehicle, and both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Duncan sustained serious injuries, while passengers in her vehicle– 19-year-old James Beck, of Blairstown, and a 15-year-old female, of Blairstown, each suffered minor injuries. Hoover and a passenger in his vehicle, 30-year-old Holly Hoover, of Holden, sustained moderate and serious injuries, respectively. They reportedly were not wearing seat belts. Six passengers in their vehicle, ranging in age from an infant to 11, each suffered minor injuries. All of the injured persons reportedly were transported to hospitals in the Kansas City area for treatment.
The crash happened at about 6:50 p.m. on Missouri Highway 58 at Route O.
