A Huntsville resident was injured in a two-vehicle rollover traffic crash in Macon County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Chelsea Carroll, of Kirksville, was traveling in the passing lane and was passed on the right by another southbound vehicle, driven by 64-year-old Melvin Lancaster, of Hunstville. The Lancaster vehicle reportedly struck the Carroll vehicle on the passenger’s side, traveled through the median, onto the northbound lanes, rolled over and came to rest in the median. Carroll’s vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder.
While Carroll reportedly was not injured, Lancaster, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Macon County ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Macon for treatment of moderate injuries.
The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 63, four miles south of Macon.
