The Slater City Council hear from the mayor regarding the recent resignation of a couple of city employees during its meeting on Tuesday, July 17.
Mayor Dr. Steven Allegri details the situation of getting two resignations, including one from the city’s fire chief, while dealing with the recent power outage and water leak.

In other business, City Administrator Gene Griffith said he has been talking with contractors to get an idea of when work will begin this fall on the sewer lining and water tower painting projects.

Griffith also added the yearly street improvements are scheduled to begin the week of August 23. He said it was delayed this year due to the recent water leak and other projects of importance.
