The Slater City Council detailed the work to remedy a recent power outage and water leak during its meeting on Tuesday, July 17.
Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri said a recent power outage took several hours to fix due to getting KCP&L workers to the scene.

In other business, City Administrator Gene Griffth said a major water leak was fixed overnight recently thanks to the efforts of several city workers. Griffith details the process of a boil advisory which was issued after the fix.

Griffth reiterated that a boil advisory usually last 48-hours, depending on the situation, due to waiting for the results of a water sample sent to a lab in Jefferson City.
