A Sedalia man has been charged with three felonies after authorities allegedly found marijuana and a loaded handgun in his vehicle after a traffic stop on Monday, July 16.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities say they found about a half-pound of marijuana and a loaded handgun during a consented search of the vehicle that was stopped for speeding. Authorities say the driver is disqualified from possessing a firearm due to previous felony convictions.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Steve Conley Jr. has been charged with Class D Felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Conley’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
