A Cole Camp man was killed in a traffic crash involving farm equipment in Pettis County on Saturday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Richard Long, of Lincoln, reportedly overtook and struck another northbound farm tractor, driven by 62-year-old Lyle McMilin. After impact, McMilin was ejected off the tractor and was struck by Long’s vehicle.
McMilin was pronounced decease at the scene at 3:32 p.m. by Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith. Long reportedly was transported by ambulance to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia for treatment of minor injures.
The crash happened before 3:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65 at Route V.
