A Sedalia man who has been charged with multiple counts of a sex-related felony involving a juvenile is due in court this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, on July 7, a juvenile alleged to authorities that 45-year-old Eric W. Fields, sexually abused him when he was between the ages of 7 and 9 (2012 to 2014).
According to online court documents, Fields has been charged with five counts of an Unclassified Felony for Attempted Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree- Deviate Sex with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old; and a sex-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at a quarter of a million dollars cash or surety.
Fields is due for a counsel-status hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
