The Marshall City Council wrangled over making its yearly contribution to the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation during its past few meetings.

At the council meeting on Tuesday, January 19, MSDC Executive Director Sandy Allison presented the council with a list of projects MSDC worked on during the past year. It included a list of 50 various projects. However, she says there are some things the city and/or county just cannot overcome in getting the requests for projects to come to fruition.

Ward 2 Councilman Kirk Arends, who represents the council on the MSDC Board, explained some of what the council needs as data points in order to make decisions.

In the end, the council voted unanimously to approve the $15,000 payment to MSDC for economic development services.
