The Higginsville Board of Aldermen considered the approval of a conditional-use permit for a business at its meeting on Tuesday, January 2.
City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says it was about the possibility of opening a nursery/bakery retail store on Highway 13 between the city and the junction with I-70.

Dobson says the location is good for that type of business.

Dobson said the plan is for C&M Farms to add on and make improvements to the building that’s already there.
In other news, Dobson updated the board on who has filed to run for seats on the Board of Aldermen, including incumbents Jeanne Fleishmann (FLESH-MEN), David Wagner and Don Knehans (KA-NEE-HANS), as well as Mayor Bill Kolas. Candidate filing for the Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 3, continues during regular business hours through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16.
