Office Staff

John Wilson - General Manager
Born in Iowa, raised in Wisconsin, and transplanted to Missouri in 1985, John and his family call Marshall home.

John served six years in the Navy, three of those years aboard the nuclear submarine USS Archerfish.  He then completed a degree in Education and taught high school.  John was given the opportunity to begin a career in radio sales and now, thirty years later, he finds broadcasting as rewarding and challenging as ever.

When away from the station, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy; four children, Brian, Jenny, John, and Ben; and one granddaughter, Ali.  He also enjoys fishing, motorcycling, the lake, and the ever present home improvement projects.  Along with all this, the people he's met and enjoyed along the way have been the best part of his life.  Family, friends, business associates and acquaintances have all contributed to a most rewarding life, and a future full of hope and promise.

Joyce Bowlen - Receptionist

When you call KMMO, quite often the voice you hear greeting you is that of Joyce Bowlen. She has kept KMMO’s office running smoothly for over ten years.

Joyce moved to Marshall at the age of nine so her father could run the Marshall Racetrack and she’s been here ever since. Joyce and Brett live with their dog Simon and have one horse named Sweetie and also care for Sweetie’s companion Sonny. She is thrilled to have her family near with her four brothers, one sister, her mother, and stepfather also living in Marshall. Her daughter, Staci, and granddaughter, Sydney, live down the road in Columbia.

When she isn’t working Joyce spends time with her family. She attends Marshall Family Worship Center and her most notable accomplishment was losing sixty pounds in 2001.

Velda Galloway - Traffic

Velda keeps the sounds of KMMO smooth.

Joining KMMO in 2002, as Traffic Director, Velda spends her days preparing the log, or road map, that the announcers follow.  She basically is the liaison between the Sales Department and the On-air staff, making sure the commercials fit where they need to and get played when they are supposed to.

When Velda isn't calculating minutes and seconds, she enjoys crocheting and cross-stich.  She is a lifelong resident of Mid-Missouri.  She grew-up in Gilliam, but now lives in Slater with her family, including her husband, Jim, and their two boys, Brendan and Connor.  She is also an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Melinda Sadler - Webmaster

Melinda fell in love with radio during her time at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.  She later transferred to University of Central Missouri and graduated with a B.S. in Broadcast Media with a Speech and Theatre Minor.

Melinda now spends her days making everyone's life at KMMO crazy.  She walks softly, but carries a big stick used to keep KMMO.com running smoothly.  She also lends her voice to production duties and filling in on-air when she gets the chance.

When Melinda isn't at KMMO, she's horsing around, literally.  Horses are her other passion in life and she actively participates in Eventing, Hunters, and Jumpers.  In the past she has been an avid foxhunter, National Games and Polocrosse Championship participant, and a successful competitive trail rider.  Melinda is currently filling any remaining free time with Wedding Planning.  You can view her on-air proposal by Clicking Here.
