Progressive Farmer Safety Tip Of The Month.

Relayed from a reader...When feeding small square bales with twine around the bale, be careful if you do not cut the twine when feeding the bale.  What happened to me the other day is almost impossible...but many accidents are almost impossible.  I jerked off the plastic twine from around a bale, and, as it flew back, a cow moved her head perfectly so that the looped twine became tightly lodged between the back of her ear and her ear tag button.  She spooked and jerked her head.  Had that twine been wrapped around one of my fingers, it would have been a serious accident and made my typing speed even slower!  Something to think about.....What's the saying...think ahead and be prepared!
