Brian Sowers - Morning Show Host, Ag Director, Co-host of In The Outdoors
Brian, host of The Morning Show heard Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10:00 AM on KMMO, is a lifelong Waverly resident. Brian started as a part time announcer in 1987 and has been at KMMO full or part time since.

Brian, host of The Morning Show heard Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10:00 AM on KMMO, is a lifelong Waverly resident. Brian started as a part time announcer in 1987 and has been at KMMO full or part time since.
Brian took over the Morning Show in Dec. of 2000 and continues to wake-up the listeners with four and a half hours of variety with information, weather, fun, and laughs. Brain also serves as the Ag. Director airing reports at 6:50 AM and 12:25 PM. In his spare time, Brian is active within the local FFA chapters and co-hosts the “In the Outdoors with Brad and Brian” program on Sunday nights from 7 to 8 PM on KMMO.
Brian really enjoys going out on location and meeting all the listeners. He spends his time away from the station with his family including his grandson, Blake, and can usually be found on the water somewhere, most of the time with a rod and reel in hand.
Ken Lewellen - News Director
Ken Lewellen is a Saline county native, graduating from Missouri Valley College in 1968 with a Major in History and a Political Science Minor. He is also a long time voice of KMMO, lending his expertise to KMMO since, 1967, with a break between December of 1972 and July of 1981.As KMMO’s News Director, Ken spends his days and sometimes his nights collecting information, writing and delivering news casts, and assigning stories to his cohort in the newsroom, Andy.
Beyond the newsroom, Ken enjoys reading and gardening, but only deals with sturdy plants that can survive on their own. He has also done a bit of traveling, backpacking through Europe in 1971, visiting England, France, Germany, and Northern Italy.
Andy Pulverenti - Newscaster
Andy is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He went to college at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where he began his path towards a career in radio. Andy graduated with a B.S. degree in Communications, and along with it a wealth of experience in the broadcasting world.Andy is the afternoon and early evening newscaster at KMMO, learning the ropes from our esteemed News Director, Ken Lewellen. Occasionally he also dabbles into sports broadcasting. Listen to his newscast at 30 minutes past during the 12, 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 o'clock hours.
If Andy is not at work, he’s probably out running, training for his next half-marathon. Recently Andy became married, and lives with his wife, two dogs, and cat in Higginsville. If he’s feeling lazy Andy can be found enjoying a Bearcat, Husker, Chiefs, Chelsea, or Royals game with family and friends.


John Dutton - Mid-day 10 to 3
When John built a low-power AM radio transmitter for his high school science fair project, he had no idea what he would be getting into.

His first stint in "real" radio was at country station KLTI in Macon, Missouri, where he read news and hosted a weekly talk show. He later went on to work in Public Radio, at station KTBG in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he as the local host of "Morning Edition." John also hosted a weekly classic country radio show on KAYQ in Warsaw, Missouri.
John loves meteorology, and hopes to go on a tornado chasing expedition someday. He now spends his time working the Mid-day at KMMO and looks forward to keeping you up-to-date with everything from your commodities to complete weather coverage.
Dan Markle - Afternoons, 3:00 to 7:00

Dan was born in Belleville, Illinois, a suburb of St Louis in 1981. Dan remained in the area working unfulfilling jobs until the age of 23 when he packed up and moved to Cancun, Mexico.
While in Mexico Dan gained a passion for performance, he worked as an entertainment director for several resorts writing, producing, and hosting nightly shows for several hundred guests a night. While in Mexico Dan survived two hurricanes, Hurricane Emily and Hurricane Wilma, however Hurricane Wilma turned out to be the more destructive of the two, as it left Dan’s place of employment literally lying in ruins.
Dan returned to the states in 2006 with a knack for performance. He enrolled at the prestigious St Louis Broadcast Center and after graduating with a certificate of fine arts he began seeking employment for his first radio job. Dan was enthusiastically hired by KMMO in April of 2008. He now resides in Marshall.
Lou Michaels - Late Nights, 7 to MidnightLou grew up in St. Louis and was drawn to radio at an early age. After finishing high school, he went to the Broadcast Center. In August of '99, he headed off to his first assignment in radio: the afternoon shift at KIKS in Iola, Kansas. He spent three years there before moving back to his home state of Missouri. For one year, he was the afternoon announcer for KPCR in Bowling Green. He was out of radio for nearly three years before accepting a job at KMMO in August 2006. Lou also serves as Music Director and host of the Community Spotlight. You can catch him Friday nights on the Pigskin Postgame or Roundball Wrapup, depending on the season.
Away from the job, Lou enjoys movies, karaoke and community theater. He's a huge St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers fan. Lou's family is spread out across the country: his mom lives in Colorado, his dad in St. Louis, he has a sister in Boston and a brother in New York. His grandmother lives in Arizona and has always been his biggest supporter.
Larry Smith - Overnights, Midnight to 5:30

Larry started working at KMMO in 1997 as a weekend overnight announcer. He soon moved to the 6 PM to Midnight on weekends and then to the Late Night shift Sunday through Friday. He has also served as the producer and board operator on the "In the Outdoors with Brad and Brian" since the show began. He has also worked with Joe Aull and Lou Michaels on the "Pigskin Postgame Show, " the "Roundball Wrap-up" and the "Sports of all Sorts" shows.
Larry has a son, Justin, who attends Missouri Valley College and a daughter, Heather, who lives with her husband and their son, Austin, in Tennessee.
Larry enjoys playing guitar, fishing, traveling and listening to many varieties of music.
Melinda Mueller - WebmeisterMelinda fell in love with radio during her time at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. She later transferred to University of Central Missouri and graduated with a B.S. in Broadcast Media with a Speech and Theatre Minor.
Melinda now spends her days making everyone's life at KMMO crazy. She walks softly, but carries a big stick used to keep KMMO.com running smoothly. She also lends her voice to production duties and filling in on-air when she gets the chance.
When Melinda isn't at KMMO, she's horsing around, literally. Horses are her other passion in life and she actively participates in Eventing, Hunters, and Jumpers. In the past she has been an avid foxhunter, National Games and Polocrosse Championship participant, and a successful competitive trail rider. Melinda recently married Erich Mueller. They are currently building their dream home and horse barn near Nelson, MO.
