Larry K. Maggert, 58, of rural Pleasant Hill, MO, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at University of Kansas Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Rev. James Dahlke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to VHL Alliance and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born March 25, 1958 in Lexington, MO, he was the son of the late Eugene W. Maggert and Alice Freund Maggert.  Larry was raised in the Concordia area where he was a 1976 graduate of Concordia High School and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  On December 27, 2008 he married Rebecca Pilcher Carpenter who survives of the home.  Larry was a truck driver for many years, which he loved doing, as well as always taking the scenic route to wherever he was going. He was currently employed by Lake City Arsenal.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four stepchildren: Chad Carpenter and companion Crystal, Chris Carpenter and wife Melissa, Jennifer Utterback and husband Luke and Megan Carpenter all of the Pleasant Hill area; seven grandchildren: Jordan Carpenter, Arissa Carpenter, Colton Stevens, Kiara Carpenter, Kian Carpenter, Blake Utterback and Tyson Utterback; two brothers, Gary Maggert and wife Beth of Concordia, and Jerry Maggert and wife Connie of Concordia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his dog, Simon, who preceded him on September 9, 2016.
