A Sedalia man has been charged with a felony after a traffic stop and subsequent consented search of his vehicle and his person revealed him to be in possession of a controlled substance last month in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities allegedly located two baggies of methamphetamine that totaled about two grams in weight on December 7, 2017.
Online court documents say 48-year-old Michael J. Maggard has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid and a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond has not been set yet.
An initial hearing for Maggard at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
