A Howard County resident has been charged with a couple of felonies for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle, crashing it and leaving the scene of the crash in Cooper County on November 29, 2017.
According to a probable-cause statement, the vehicle was crashed on Missouri Highway 98 at Orchard Drive.
An investigation led authorities to file charges against 20-year-old Norman Keith Wood, of New Franklin.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued, and Wood has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree; a Class E Felony for Leaving the Scene of an Accident- Property Damage Exceeding $1,000; and three driving-related misdemeanors.
Wood’s initial hearing at Cooper County Circuit Court in Boonville is pending.
