Saline Countians are going to be voting on a proposed one-half-cent sales tax measure for countywide economic development during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 3.
At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, January 11, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said a Task Force meeting was held on Wednesday, January 10, at the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Office in Marshall to discuss guidelines regarding how the funds will be spent– provided the measure passes.

Fenner added there also are two or three persons on the task force from the rural areas as well as the three commissioners.
Northern District Commissioner Richard Clemens said representatives of the towns have been asked to bring proposals to the meetings.

Fenner said the next meeting is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, at the old schoolhouse in Arrow Rock. He said future meetings will be held in other towns, such as Slater and Sweet Springs.
