Two Boonville residents are facing multiple felony charges for allegedly growing marijuana at their residences in Cooper County.
According to a news release, on February 24, Boonville Police officers reportedly searched two neighboring residences in the 500 block of West Street after receiving reports of alleged marijuana production. Officers reportedly seized about 240 marijuana plants in various stages of growth and nearly thirty pounds of processed marijuana, as well as marijuana-infused brownies and candies. Also, seized were several lights sources and other equipment for growing, processing, and packaging marijuana.
Online court documents say 55-year-old Robert Morrison and 60-year-old Deborah Hombs have been charged with multiple felonies– two counts each of a Class B Felony for Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance Within 2,000 Feet of a School or College and a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance; one count of a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Possession of Weapon and Felony Controlled Substance, as well as two drug-related misdemeanors. Bond for each has not yet been set.
Initial hearings for both of the accused are pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
