Marshall resident Craig McDaniel, representing the group “Friends of the Marshall Dog Park,” was at the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, May 7, and asked the council to consider approving the group to use of a small portion of the property formerly known as the Marshall Habilitation Center for a dog park.
McDaniel said the group has pinpointed an area north of North Lincoln Avenue– about 1-3/10 total acres, adjacent to the northeastern corner of the lake.

McDaniel says the group already has received a donation of a majority of the fencing that will be needed.

McDaniel said the group plans to put the fence far enough back from the shoreline of the lake so that people still would have access to it if they want to fish.
The council said it will take the request under consideration.
You can find out more information on the proposed project by visiting the group’s Facebook page.
