The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a one million square foot distribution facility was held recently in Warrensburg.
According to a news release, the Dollar Tree Distribution Facility opening in Warrensburg comes on the heels of an April 2017 announcement of company’s plans to invest $110 million and create 375 new jobs by 2020. The Warrensburg facility will service stores across an 11-state region.
Warrensburg Mayor Danielle Johnston said “We thank Dollar Tree for recognizing the great assets we have long known were available in Warrensburg. The impact of 375 new jobs in our area will be immense, and we will continue this positive momentum and prepare for future growth.”
Dollar Tree reportedly is the largest and most successful single-price-point retailer in North America, and is headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia. The company operates more than 14,900 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces, along with 23 distribution centers.
