The MMU Board of Public Works heard progress reports on two electrical projects during its meeting on Thursday, August 16.
Electric Distribution Director Jeff Bergstrom said his crews are almost at the halfway point of installing new AMI electric meters for all MMU customers, but had to slow down recently.

In other business, Bergstrom said the conversion of overhead power lines to underground is an ongoing project in which his crews try to meet certain number of homes each year.

Bergstrom added his crews are currently working in the area of South Grant Avenue and Briarwood Drive. Since the project began in 2010, approximately 21,000 linear feet of primary and secondary lines have been converted underground for a total of 421 homes.
