A Smithton man has been charged with multiple felonies after he allegedly stole a motorcycle and was in possession of illegal drugs.
According to a probable-cause statement, a Sedalia Police officer located a motorcycle that had been reported as stolen, and the driver, 46-year-old Douglas Lee Johnson, was arrested on Wednesday, August 15. Authorities say they found 13.8 grams of methamphetamine and some marijuana on him, as well.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Johnson has been charged with Class D Felonies for Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash or surety.
Johnson’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
