The Missouri Department of Conservation is scheduled to host a free, private land management workshop at campground in Benton County on Saturday, September 8.
According to a news release, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the free workshop will be held at the Big Buffalo Creek Conservation Area, southeast of Cole Camp. Participants should dress appropriately for a woodland hike, and a free lunch will be provided. Also, MDC staff will provide fishing opportunities for youths.
MDC staff is scheduled to discuss forest, woodland and open-land management practices that can help property owners increase the value of their land. Conservation farming, management for deer and turkey, stream processes and natural areas also are scheduled to be discussed.
