Two St. Louis residents were killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Johnson County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Kent Reynolds, of St. Louis, reportedly crossed the center line of the roadway and struck a northbound vehicle, driven by 82-year-old Walter McGirl, of Warrensburg, head-on.
A passenger in Reynolds’ vehicle- 19-year-old Randy Diltz- was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:16 p.m. Reynolds was pronounced deceased by a doctor at St. Luke’s Hospital at 10:31 p.m. Neither man reportedly was wearing a seat belt.
McGirl reportedly was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Missouri Highway 13 Bypass, two-tenths of a mile north of the Missouri Highway 13 South Roundabout.
