A Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, resident suffered moderate injuries in a rollover traffic crash in Cooper County on Monday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Daniel Hinton, of Raleigh, reportedly merged into the left lane to avoid another vehicle. His vehicle then traveled off the left side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and the driver overcorrected the vehicle, which skidded and overturned off the right side of the roadway.
While Hinton reportedly was not injured, a passenger in the vehicle- 17-year-old Lauren Pedeliski- was transported by Cooper County ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
The crash happened just before 9 a.m. at the 94.8 mile marker on I-70.
