Multiple felony charges have been filed against two out-of-state residents for allegedly pulling off an armed robbery in Cooper County on September 28.
According to a post on the Boonville Police Department’s Facebook page, 43-year-old Desimond L. Fields, of South Carolina, and 35-year-old Dwayne T. Rivers, of North Carolina, were apprehended after officers responded to the reported armed robbery at Dollar General Store at 501 West Ashley Road. The two suspects reportedly left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
A vehicle traveling south on Ashely Road was stopped for a traffic violation, leading to their apprehension. Authorities reportedly found evidence inside the vehicle connecting the suspects to the robbery.
Boonville Police Officers, with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Cooper County deputies participated in the investigation and subsequent arrests.
Online court documents say warrants have been issued and each subject has been charged with a Class A Felony for Robbery in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Stealing of $750 or More; two counts of a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond for each subject has not been set yet.
An initial hearing for each suspect is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
