During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, October 9, commissioners pointed out they attended a meeting in Arrow Rock on Sunday, October 7.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. praised the village’s leaders for being on the ball and getting things put together to utilize money it can receive from proceeds of the half-cent sales tax for economic development within the county. Northern District Commissioner Richard Clemens said they have a committee set up to grade prospective projects.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner says two groups are working together in Arrow Rock.

The sales tax, which sunsets on December 31, 2038, went into effect on October 1. About a third of the projected funds are going to be used to finance a water project at the Marshall Junction. The remainder of the funds are to be dispersed for projects in the rest of the county that will be determined by the Economic Development Board.
