A considerable amount money has been recently deposited into the state’s public-education fund by the Missouri Lottery.
According to a news release, profits from September ticket sales from the Lottery were transferred to a public education fund to the tune of $25 million.
One hundred percent of the profits from Missouri Lottery ticket sales go to public education. In fiscal year 2018, these profits were appropriated for a variety of programs, including: the Foundation Program, the A+ Scholarships Program, Special Education Excess Costs, the Classroom Trust Fund, and approximately nine to 12 percent of the state’s funding for several public higher-education institutions’ operating costs.
