Marshall fire fighters were toned out to put out a blaze in a house on Friday, October 12.
According to a Marshall Fire Department spokesperson, firemen were toned out at 10:38 p.m. to a fire that started in the basement of a residence in the 300 block of South Salt Pond Avenue. Fire fighters arrived on the scene in a few minutes, had the blaze under control by 10:51 p.m. and cleared the scene at 11:36 p.m.
The spokesperson said the fire’s cause was determined to be due to a furnace malfunction.
Damage to the structure and its contents- due to the fire and smoke- has been estimated at $85,000.
No injuries were reported from the scene.
