Lafayette County Prosecutor, Kristen Ellis Hilbrenner, has reported a productive third quarter in 2018 for her office.
According to a post on her Facebook page, over the past three months, 81 defendants were sent to the Missouri Department of Corrections, with sentences ranging from two to 60 years, with the highest sentences being handed down to repeat offenders, drug dealers, those convicted in child sex cases and to Ryan Beamgard, who was convicted of murder, assault, armed criminal action, burglary and stealing.
In addition to that, her office saw a large increase in restitution collected over the amount collected in the third quarter last year. More than $62,000 dollars was collected by the office and returned to victims of crime. Hilbrenner believes this increase was made possible because of the effort made by the office to hold defendants on probation accountable for following all the conditions of their probation.
