The New Franklin School Board approved the implementation of a program designed to help with the hiring of substitute teachers during its meeting on Wednesday, October 17.
Superintendent Brian Cordel said the board approved the SMARTsub program which is a web-based calling system.

Cordel said the program cost $800 annually and is scheduled to go live on Monday, October 22.
In other business, Codel details a new summer school program which will begin after this school year.

Also during the meeting, Cordel said the board approved for students to have a high school dance team which is scheduled to perform during the upcoming basketball season.
