Two Sedalia residents are facing felony charges after authorities allegedly found drug-related items in a residence where they tried to serve a warrant on Tuesday, February 5.
A probable-cause statement says authorities saw a digital scale with white residue on it in plain view. They were granted permission to search the residence, and say they found over 14 grams of methamphetamine; and several other drug-related items. After arresting Patricia Ryan, authorities found Justin Bales hiding in the crawl space. When he was booked at the Pettis County Jail, authorities say they found Bales to be in possession of some methamphetamine.
According to online court documents, each subject has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance; Bales also with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance at a County Jail and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest; and Ryan with a Class E Felony for Hindering Prosecution. Bond has been set at $75,000 and $50,000 cash or surety for Bales and Ryan, respectively.
An initial hearing for each defendant is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
