The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen was busy during its meeting on Monday, March 11.
According to minutes from the meeting, the board approved a bid submitted by Willa Vaught for mowing of the park of $6,629 to be paid in monthly installments of $947 from April through October. It was one of two bids received- the other being $8,400.
In other business, the board approved a contract with Jennifer March for park attendant of $2,968- or $424 per month- from April through October. It was one of two bids received- the other being $3,080.
The board also approved a bid of $1,125 per month for mowing of the cemetery from Keith and Robert Thomas. The contract runs for a full year.
One bid was received for grub control. The bid of $1,798.80 for 24 30-pound bags of Merit 5% from Bernard Lumber of Sweet Springs was approved by the board.
Also, aldermen gave their approval to the renewal of the annual contractual agreement with the Saline County Emergency Management Agency.
