Travis Lee Davis, the inmate who escaped from the Pettis County Jail earlier this month and was apprehended last week, appeared in court recently and has another court date scheduled in April in Pettis County.
According to a news release, the Sedalia Police Department received information that Davis returned to the area and was hiding in a detached garage at a residence in the 2100 block of East 7th Street at approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 19. Officers responded to the residence and checked the garage, where Davis was found hiding in the attic of the garage.
Davis reportedly escaped the Pettis County Jail on March 10, which started a manhunt as he fled to Oklahoma. Davis was incarcerated as he was facing several felony charges, including one for kidnapping, in a separate case.
Online court documents from this case says Davis has been charged with a Class E Felony for Escape or Attempted Escape from Confinement with bond set at $100,000 cash only.
Davis was formally arraigned on March 20, and his cause has been continued with a case hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at Pettis County Circuit Court. He is scheduled to appear for both of his cases during the hearing.
