A Slater man who was charged with multiple felonies relating to a domestic disturbance and standoff with law enforcement on May 28, 2017; changed his plea in court in November 2018; and had his sentencing hearing continued for a third time on March 11, is due for another sentencing hearing this week.
According to online court documents, on November 21, Charles Townsend Jr., who is now 31, pleaded guilty to two counts of a Class A Felony for Assault or Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Causing Serious Physical Injury or Special Victim; a Class B Felony for Assault or Attempted Assault in the First Degree; Class E Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting, and Resisting or Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony; and three counts of an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action.
Townsend’s sentencing hearing also was continued on February 13 and February 25.
Townsend’s sentencing hearing now is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at Saline County Circuit Court.
