The Sweet Springs School Board accepted the results of the Municipal Election and held an election of officers during its meeting on Thursday, April 11.
According to the minutes of the meeting, the board declared Paula Staples and Eric Giffen as winners of the Municipal Election held April 2. Staples and Giffen then took the Oath of Office to officially become board members.
The board then dissolved the existing board and held an election of officers with the results as follows: President Eric Giffen; Vice President Cindi Sims; Treasurer Paula Staples; Secretary Darla Reid; MSBA Representative Robert Fuehring; and members Troy Schroeder and Brian Vogelsmeier.
In other business, a representative with Howe Company, LLC, presented plans for a project of improving the school parking lot which has been broken down into four phases with the total estimated cost between $940,000 and $1.1 million. The board discussed the importance of each phase and other details, but decided to table the matter until next month’s meeting.
