The Sedalia City Council presented a plaque honoring the recipient of the city’s Firefighter of the Year award during its meeting on Monday, May 20.
City Administrator Kelvin Shaw details who received this year’s award and what he did to earn the recognition.

Shaw added Engineer Scott Smoot was named Sedalia Firefighter of the Year at a banquet earlier this month, and was presented a plaque by the council at the beginning of the regular-session meeting.
