Officials in Brunswick are still requesting assistance with sandbagging and have issued a voluntary evacuation for residents south of Broadway Street on the west side of town.
A post on the town’s Facebook page says: “We are abandoning the WEST END. The water is becoming a safety issue, and the police department has made the call to have the sandbagging team leave that area. If you live on the west end, we are cutting power there due to safety concerns.
Another post says, two residents have a key to the shelter at Keytesville school. Please contact, Rhonda Hughes at (660) 651-1908 or Michelle Asbury (660) 676 3114, and inform them if you evacuate and need a place to stay.
Also, volunteers are still needed in other parts of town according to a city official.
For more information, call Brunswick City Hall at (660) 548-3048.
