Unofficially, voters in Sedalia overwhelmingly passed two tax-related ballot measures by roughly 4-to-1 margins during the special election on Tuesday, August 6.
According to information on the county’s website, voters approved Question 1- to remove the June 30, 2026, sunset provision from its existing capital-improvement sales tax in the amount of one-half of one percent by a margin of 2,341 to 602.
Question 2- to impose an increase to a sales tax from three-eighths to one-half of one percent for the purpose of providing funding for local parks and storm-water control- was approved 2,396 to 556.
Results are scheduled to be certified at a later date.
