According to a spokesperson from the Marshall Fire Department, the department received a call at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 that a combine was on fire, about 4 ½ miles north of Marshall on US Highway 41.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the combine, that was in a corn field, was fully engulfed and had also caught some corn stalks on fire.
Crews were on the scene for about 2 1/2 hours and were able to extinguish the fires.
There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
