A warrant has been issued, bond set at six figures and a Higginsville man charged with sex-related felonies involving a juvenile in Ray County.
A probable-cause statement says during an interview with investigators on August 12, a female child described in explicit details how she was touched inappropriately by Cory Michael Browne two years ago.
The warrant was issued after Browne was interviewed by authorities.
According to court documents, Browne, who is now 31, has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Witness in a Felony Prosecution; a Class E Felony for Incest; and an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy with a Person less than 12 Years Old. Bond has been set for $100,000 cash or corporate surety.
Browne entered a plea of not guilty during a hearing on Tuesday, November 19. A bond-reduction hearing is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 25. Browne’s preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Ray County Circuit Court.
